Use Plant Starter
Succeed in your planting through six simple steps
Step 1
Fill the Plant Starter with compost
Place the plug part over the lower part using the support legs. The support legs of the plug part should rest on the inner edge of the lower part. Do not press down on the plug part. Then fill the plug holes with compost. Pack the compost tightly so that the plugs stick together. Brush off all excess compost.
Step 2
Holes for the seeds
Turn the lid upside down, with the spikes down, and then gently press into the compost so that there are small holes in which to sow the seeds.
Step 3
Sow
Sow the seeds according to the instructions of the seed bag. Put the lid on so that the ventilation is open, and place the Plant Starter somewhere bright and warm.
Step 4
While the seeds germinate
Keep the compost moist during the time that the seeds germinate. Carefully water the top of the compost so that the water flows through to the bottom part. Once the seeds have germinated and the first leaves are developed, the root system of the plant has evolved so that one can gradually start watering from below.
Then fill the bottom part with water until it reaches the compost in the plugs. Remove the lid when the plants have grown a bit. Keep in mind that the need for watering increases when the cover is removed and as the plants grow
Step 5
Remove the plants
When the plants have grown and the roots are well developed, they should be replanted in a pot, balcony box or outside in the garden. Now, you should use the Plant Starter's smart pop-up function.
Gently angle the support legs of the plug part towards the opening of the bottom part and press down. With the help of the built-up pins of the bottom part, the plants are raised and are easy to remove.
Step 6
Voilá!
Now you have 49 perfect plug plants with undamaged roots that are easy to plant further.
